The NXP MC34931 is a monolithic, thermally efficient 36 V/ 5 A H-Bridge DC motor driver.

Features real-time load current monitoring and automatic thermal back-off ensuring high availability operation in demanding high-current, high-temperature industrial applications
Designed primarily for DC brushed and servo motor driver applications within the current and voltage limits stated in this specification

Thermal efficiency: eSOIC package delivers 2X lower thermal impedance, saving board space and simplifying design
Automatic thermal back-off: Temperature regulated, peak current limiting ensures continuous high availability operation
Real-time load current monitoring: Analog feedback current mirror feature used for motor control or load protection
Design-in simplicity: Integrated H-Bridge with charge pump, control, protection and four MOSFETs
High efficiency: 120 mΩ typical RDS(ON)
Load supply voltage 5 V to 36 V continuous operation, 42 V transient
Operation up to 5 A covering a wide range of applications.
3 and 5 V TTL/CMOS compatible
Status flag output reports under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature fault conditions
Output short-circuit protection (short to VPWR or GND)
Sleep mode with current draw < 20 μA
Parallel interface and input control
Ambient operating temperature -40 °C (Min), 85 °C (Max)
