MCX W23: Ultra-Low Power Bluetooth® Low Energy Solution With Arm® Cortex® M33 TrustZone® for IoT
The MCX W23 provides connectivity solutions for IoT applications. The MCX W23 device constitute a highly integrated, single chip, ultra-low-power Bluetooth® Low Energy 5.3 wireless transceiver with embedded microcontroller and flash.
Because of the integrated ultra-low-power radio and flash, the MCX W23 provides extended battery lifetime. The MCX W23 is a cost-effective solution within a small solution area required for body-worn / battery-powered sensors and actuator applications.
Enable with the flexible Buck and Boost option of the DCDC converter, the MCX W23 runs directly from a large range of batteries.
Built with advanced security in mind, the MCX W23 is part of the Certified Edgelock Assurance program (SESIP Level 2 / PSA Level 2).

- Low-voltage supply mode (LV_SM) for 1.5 V battery support using integrated boost DC-DC converter

- A 2.4 GHz RF transceiver supporting Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3
- Sensitivity -94 dBm in Bluetooth Low Energy 2 Mbps
- Sensitivity -97 dBm in Bluetooth Low Energy 1 Mbps
- Sensitivity -100 dBm in Bluetooth Low Energy 500 kbps

- Flexible RF transmitter level configurability:
- TX mode 1 (TXM1): Range from -31 dBm to +2 dBm when VDD_RF exceeds 1.1 V
- TX mode 2 (TXM2): Range from -28 dBm to +6 dBm when VDD_RF exceeds 1.7 V

- AES-256 encryption/decryption engine with PUF keys
- Secure hash algorithm (SHA1 and SHA2-256)

- True random number generator (TRNG) compliant to NIST SP 800-90B, NIST SP 800-22
Timers
- 32-bit real-time clock (RTC) with 1 s resolution running in the always-on power domain
- Additional timer in the RTC can be used for wake up from all low power modes with 1 ms resolution
