NXP’s Personal Device Manager (PDM) solution is a secure, optimized and highly integrated platform designed to control personal insulin pumps.

The system architecture features a multiprotocol MCU with Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4, Wi-Fi 6, a security subsystem and an LCD controller. To ensure continuous device operation and simplify PCB design and BOM, a PMIC with battery charging and gauging is added. To enhance connectivity, an NFC reader is included for easy pairing with NFC-enabled pumps. A secure element is recommended to protect sensitive data and comply with stringent security standards.

NXP supports product longevity to meet healthcare requirements and aligning with diverse regional supply chain needs, while collaborating with ODMs ready to productize the platform.
